Emily M. Akin
Union City, Tennessee

I have never been very good at minding my own business. Therefore, I "edit" everything I read. Over the past 15 years, I have written and edited for business publications, newsletters, and directories. I have worked with university professors, business people, and ministers on editing and teaching projects. In my current writing, I specialize in nonfiction articles for the Christian market. As an editor, I prefer AP style, but I am open to working with Chicago style. What can I do for you? Writing, proofreading, editing, ghost writing, work-for-hire.

Karen Andrews

Tampa, Florida

After a decade in childcare at Christian schools, I returned to college and completed a degree in journalism, serving as copy chief and occasional writer for the university newspaper. I also took advanced grammar and creative writing courses, writing several short stories and beginning work on two novels. I’ve copyedited a book for a business motivational speaker, edited my church newsletter and assisted a small publishing house. My last job involved carefully reading documents to replace client-sensitive terms and proofreading manuals for the department. My current full-time mission is to offer proofreading and copyediting services to Christian writers.

Jerri N. Barber
North Carolina

I'm excited about being able to move forward in things that have been on hold for so long. My journey has been one of transformation, sometimes painful, but absolutely life changing. I currently serve on the writing and editorial team at my church. For many years I wrote, edited, and designed newsletters and other agency materials while employed at a small agency. I've always enjoyed trying to take someone else's work and make it more presentable. Now I want to focus more on developing my editorial skills and become a full-time freelancer, incorporating graphic design as an added bonus.
